If you’re one of those who grew up with Walt Disney as the heart of your childhood experience, then this is a perfect opportunity to take a walk down memory lane. Get together a bunch of themed food and sweets and enjoy your day with a group of friends, because Disney has always been about family.
You may also want to use Walt Disney Day to plan a trip to one of the Disney theme parks around the world. Disneyland needs no introduction. This is a place where dreams become a reality. Whether you are able to go next year or in ten year’s time, we are sure you will get there, and it is never too early to plan!
Of course, the most famous park is the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, but there are actually a number of theme parks around the world. For example, did you know that there is a theme park in Hong Kong? From Grizzly Gulch to Toy Story Land; there is a great selection of rides and attractions for you to enjoy.
You could easily take a vacation and incorporate one of the Disney theme parks into your trip. Or, at the very least, you can do what we do, and spend all day fantasizing about the different Disney trips we are going to have and all of the expensive themed hotels that we’re going to stay in. After all, if you visualize something, it will come true, right?
We would also recommend watching one of the many television shows and documentaries about the Disney story. First on the list is The Imagineering Story. This is a documentaries series that Leslie Iwerks directed and produced, and it is truly fascinating. It takes an in-depth look at the creation and history of the Disney attractions and theme parks across the globe.
It is truly fascinating to learn about the different concepts and how they became a reality. You will also be able to look at how Disney has progressed over the years, as well as discovering the different challenges along the way. It is a rare and honest insight into one of the world’s biggest companies, and it doesn’t gloss over the hard times. It really gives you fresh respect and love for Disney.
